Pala Vet track review

August 27th, 2009 No comments

I know this post is useless without photos, and actually I had a camera with me, but the track favors horsepower now with changes they have made. The straightaway  after you enter the track is the same, as are the two straightaways and three turns after that. But  now after you exit the r/h turn after the third straightaway there is long straightaway into the r/h bowl turn. There are a total of four small jumps in that straightaway, two of them you have done before, two in between those will be new to you. After you do the bowl turn you head for what used to be the step down into a right, well you don’t go right any more you go straight to a 180 left, kinda where the hump turn used to be. And what used to be the step down is now kinda of a fast little step up. After you make the 180 left your back on the the back most straightaway, nothings really changed there. Same for the left turn after that, and the staight and left turn after that. The little step over is the same, but table is more of a jump now and you jump to a right 180 turn, then you’re on the staightaway before the front straightaway and everything is the same after that.

Pro-Prept Racer Anthony Allen takes 2 at “08” Hot Summer Nights

November 15th, 2008 No comments

(Article from Nov.2008 San Diego Off Road magazine, written by Rodney Rutherford.) For Anthony Allen fear does not exist after suffering a horrific accident in 2006 and being in a coma for a few days he returned with fire in his eyes and it continues to burn brightly. His comeback is now complete as the young racer reached out and found his way to two titles in the 85cc novice and 85cc(thru 11) age group. Piloting his Honda CR85 he was a bit frustrated with losing his wheels in a few of the rounds but stayed relentless in pursuit of the titles. For 2009 he would like to race at select Amateur Nationals and hopefully qualify for Loretta Lynn’s National Amateur Championship. Allen would like to thank Escondido Cycle Center, Pro-Prept and Sureflex. He would also like to thank the staff of San Diego Off Road for their moral support in the past few years.

Pro-Prept checks out Fire/Police MX Nationals

June 25th, 2008 No comments

You’ve heard of monday night football, but how about monday night motocross? Well that’s what happens at Perris Raceway on select monday nights thanks to Ed Wilson’s Fire/Police MX Nationals. I have a freind that was racing the support class at the first round so I decided to go check it out. I’d always heard about the Fire Police MX Nationals from customers that were in the fire or police force. The first thing I noticed is that it was a very low key, low stress, freindly, fun type of atmosphere. Hey these guys already put their lives on the line for public safety, so their out there racing for the pure joy of it. It was a little warm when I got there, but once the sun went down it was perfect night racing temps. Watching the races I could see motos where the racers certainly had skills. And I saw other motos where the racers may not have been as fast but they were definately having fun. They race a three moto format so these guys get some bang for there racing bucks. The next race is July 14th, if you want to know more about the series go to . If your not a fireman or policeman  you may be eligble to ride one of the support classes. For a few photos from the 1st round go to my sightings header and click on it, then click on track sightings, then click on Perris.
